Work Party Information

First of all, they are  not really 'work' in the sense that most of us are used to.  It's hanging out in the bush or up on the hill digging or maintaining sweet single track, tweaking or building features, planting native trees (karma bonus) or removing pest plants (double karma bonus).  You get to meet other Park users and as someone from the Committee will be running the day it's also a chance to give feedback on the Park, or just say thanks.

Work Parties run every second Saturday or Sunday and sometimes during the week, see the Events & Work Parties Calendar for specifics.  Most of the year we work on tracks but in the wet winter months we do plant native trees and shrubs as part of our conservation efforts.

We supply tools, lunch and often spot prizes from our very generous Sponsors.

On the day, meet at the car park at South Karori Road at 10am unless it says otherwise on the event & work party calendar.   If you're running late or want to stop in later during a ride, just head straight to the track, we'll have tools and if you are early enough, lunch a plenty.

Hope to see you there, nothing happens at Makara Peak without volunteers.
