Don Macleod this morning rode the 1700m of North Face trail, end to end non stop.

Initial looking about for this trail was done on October, 2008.

Pilot tracking started in earnest in March, 2009. And 25 or so pilot sessions later…..

The track was given the green light by the WCC on September 25, 2009.

Work parties started on 15 October, the forecast for the first one was for snow..

Since then we have had about 35 work parties and built 14 switchbacks and benched about 1700m of swoopy flowy singletrack. Not bad for 14 weeks....

A very very impressive effort indeed.

A huge thankyou to everybody who has helped out so far :)

Next up, making it as good as it can be.

And, working on the lower section…

The legends who are creating the berms on north face are applying the polish to an already awesome track. Best track on the peak if a few more of those tight corners get the same treatment. Still grinning from railing those first two bends.

Great work guys, it's a lovely bit of trail. I rode it for the first time today and absolutely loved it.
