How the Committee works,

The Makara Peak Supporters Committee has a General Committee as well as Sub Committees for Tracks, Conservation, Advocacy and Events. The Committee is responsible for working with the Wellington City Council to get permission for new track development, oversees track design, undertakes track development and maintenance and manages all aspects of conservation including pest and weed control, planting, funding applications, plant purchasing etc.

The Makara Peak Supporters Committee is responsible for organising all the volunteer labour for track development, maintenance and conservation. It is also responsible for applying for funding from various sources to continue conservation efforts, gaining funds for track development

The Committee meets in the first Thursday of every month while the Sub Committees meet as required. 

Office holders for the 2011/2012 year are Steve Wallace (Chairperson), Peter Barnes (Secretary) and Tony Offord (Treasurer).
